This was a good use of two bucks

Backstrom/Moore, 1962-63 Parkhurst

Backstrom has a ding and Moore has a wrinkle, but I’m not complaining.

Sometimes it pays to take a chance on a lousy picture.

Every so often there’s a decent-sounding card available on eBay that nobody is bidding on because either it’s completely out of focus, way too small to make out any details, the wrong card altogether, or a combination of all three.  These were the type where the image is of the entire scanner bed with one tiny card off to the side, shrunk way past the point of usefulness.

Nobody was bidding and they were sitting at 99 cents.

I got them both.  Both have flaws, but a solid pair of ’62 Parkhursts for $1.98 really can’t be beat.

Best thing I ever got this way was a ’71 OPC Nolan Ryan for about 1/3 its normal sale price.  Had a minor print flaw on the back, but the corners were great and it works for me.

Backstrom/Moore - 1962-63 Parkhurst

Not a great back, but it beats the heck out of what they did in 1963-64.

Wow, for a buck apiece that’s a super deal. I got to see Backstrom play with the Kings and in the WHA but sadly never for Montreal.
